Victor is known as the innovation leader among calculator manufacturers. The PL8000, introduced in 2008, was the first printing calculator to feature an alphanumeric display, alphanumeric printer, Loan Wizard, personalized text messages, help button, and a reprint key. Victor was also the first manufacturer to offer built in AntiMicrobial protection, which is available on eight of our models. Our new High Rise Collection™ is another example of innovation. The High Rise Collection™, introduced in 2014, is a direct response to the growing awareness of health risks caused by too much sitting. Our collection includes monitor stands, standing desks, sit-stand desk converters and balance boards, all carefully engineered to provide users with ergonomically correct work environments.
In addition to seeking out the most innovative technology, Victor strives to offer socially responsible products. Fifteen of our models contain 20%-50% recycled plastic.
The Victor Adding Machine Company was founded in 1918 and the first Victor Adding Machine was introduced in 1919. Nine years later Victor introduced “subtractor” machines that could both add and subtract.
For close to a century, Victor has proudly sold a wide variety of products. These have included cash registers, computers, and even golf carts. During World War II, Victor manufactured the Norden Bombsight. This was a revolutionary piece of technology that allowed pilots to drop bombs with greater precision and accuracy, thus minimizing civilian casualties. Victor made additional contributions to the war effort, manufacturing an aircraft compass and a B-24 bomber turret gunsight. Fast forward to current day, after becoming the provider of Sharp calculators in the US and Latin America, Victor is now the largest provider of printing calculators in the US.
